XQuery Aficionados? This is for you!

Design and develop a new application with Sausalito. You might win one of the cash prizes and a 1-year free hosting of your application. We are looking for the best web application which has a significant part developed with Sausalito. In order to get some inspiration you might take a look at the following sites:

Prizes

  • 1st Place: $7,500
  • 2nd Place: $1,500
  • 3rd Place: $500
  • Honorable Mention (8): $100

One year free (but reasonably limited) support and runtime for ALL contestants.

An individual can have as many entries as they'd like, and an individual can win one prize per entry they provide, however one entry cannot win more than one prize.

Registration

The first thing that you have to do is to create an account in the Sausalito Portal. With this account you can deploy your application and see if it works as expected.

Second, you have to register until September 30, 2010 by providing the required information at the Registration Website and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions. As a result, you will receive an Email confirming your registration. You can help us by registering as early as possible. This will allow us to do better planning and give us an overview of how many submissions we have to expect and judge.

Submission Rules and the Judge

Before September 30, 2010, you have to submit your application to us. Submission must be done by deploying your application in the Sausalito Portal. If the application is running as you wish, you need to send the complete application to . Besides containing the application itself, this email also needs to contain the name of the application in the Sausalito Portal.

Awards will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Originality of the application
  • Potential usability of the application
  • Code quality of the application

The submitted web application needs to contain a website that describes the application. This site needs to contain a Sausalito and an XQuery button in order to show that the application was developed with Sausalito and XQuery.

Who is Eligible

You are eligible if you meet the following requirements at the time of submission:
  • You are 18 years of age or older as of September 30, 2010.
  • You are not a current employee/intern of 28msec Inc., an employee of any 28msec affiliate, or subsidiary.
  • You are not an immediate family member (parent, child, sibling, or spouse) of, or living in the same household as, a 28msec employee or an employee of any 28msec affiliate or subsidiary; and
  • You are not a resident of Quebec or anywhere where the contest is prohibited by law. Individuals and entities restricted by applicable export controls and sanctions programs are ineligible to participate in the Contest. 28msec reserves the right to relax any of these restrictions if permitted by law before the final submission date.
