Fix: Google App Crashing on OnePlus Phones After Opening

Solution 1. Clear Google app cache and data

  2. Open Google and tap ‘Force Stop’.
  3. Tap on Storage > Clear Storage.
  4. Then, tap on the “Clear All Data” button and then select Ok for confirmation.

  4. Open the Google application and it will be working without problem.

In our instance, deinstalling updates to the app caused it to change from the latest version 10.85.11.21.arm64.

NOTE: Google app is an application that runs as a system for Android which means it’s impossible to remove it and then reinstall it.

Deleting automatic updates for Google application (Recommended)

It is also recommended to stop automatic updates until Google solves the problem. This will ensure that the app isn’t updated automatically to the most recent version.

To do this, go to the Google app via Google Play and tap three vertical dots on the top of the page. Untick the checkbox that says “Enable auto-update”.
