How to Install Official TWRP 2.8 Touch Recovery on Redmi 1S

Xiaomi Redmi 1S comes pre-loaded with MIUI which is an excellent ROM that is packed with amazing features and customizable options. If however, you’re finding that your experience using MIUI on the Redmi 1S isn’t satisfactory then you may want to install a custom ROM to get improved performance. To install a customized ROM to Android phones, you have first install a custom recovery, such as ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) or Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). Although both of these recovery options are extremely popular, at present CWM for the Redmi 1S phone isn’t fully functional and doesn’t have many options, for instance, it doesn’t allow you to select .zip file to download from your internal storage. The amazing TWRP recovery is now available for Redmi 1S which is definitely the most reliable and fully-featured recovery for Redmi 1S that comes with integration with the Touch Interactive Menu.

TWRP 2.8.0.0 for Redmi 1S features a touchscreen interface, complete support for SELinux (4.3+) support, backup encryption function fully functional USB On The Go (OTG) and MTP support as of 2.8.0.X. It is recommended to install TWRP on top of CWM to take advantage of the additional options it provides.
